AFRtracker

EPiQ Life Science was founded in 2007 and is a company aiming to provide innovative solutions for healthcare providers worldwide. Our focus is to develop diagnostic and therapeutic products for cardiac disease and critically ill patients. In this short presentation we demonstrate our new product AFRtracker that is based on advanced signal processing algorithms to derive atrial fibrillation frequency from the 12-lead ECG. The QRST waves are subtracted from the ECG leads where the atrial fibrillation is clearly exposed, resulting in a residual ECG signal only composed of the contribution from the atrial chambers. A Fourier transform is thereafter applied to the residual signal, hence returning a frequency spectra of the electric activity in the atria. The dominating frequency in the spectra is identified and gives valuable information to guide antiarrhythmic therapy evaluation.

A short demonstration of the AFRtracker concept is here provided. We illustrate three options on how to use this innovative concept as decision support when treating patients with atrial fibrillation.
